OUR STORY

Dedication and Services

Welcome to CarmeLIGHT, a compassionate movement dedicated to supporting the Carmelites in Indonesia. Our mission is to keep the flame of hope burning bright, symbolized by the candlelight, as we strive to provide crucial support for the Carmelite friars who selflessly devote themselves to serving others.

CarmeLIGHT draws inspiration from the rich spiritual heritage of the Carmelite tradition, which traces its roots back to the biblical figure Elijah. As a pivotal figure in the Bible, Elijah exemplified unwavering faith and zeal for God on Mount Carmel. His teachings and example continue to guide and inspire the Carmelite friars in their spiritual journey and their mission to bring God's light into the world.

Managed by Komunitas Jalan Kecil (KJK), which translates to "alleyway movement," CarmeLIGHT embodies the spirit of Elijah's unwavering commitment and devotion. We are a lay movement united by a shared calling to support the Carmelites in their ministry.

At CarmeLIGHT, we recognize the challenges faced by the Carmelites as they strive to carry out their mission amidst limited resources and financial constraints. Through our collective efforts, we aim to address these challenges by rallying individuals, communities, and organizations who share a common purpose.

Together, we raise funds and gather resources to support the Carmelite friars in their spiritual endeavors, educational programs, humanitarian efforts, and community outreach initiatives. By partnering with CarmeLIGHT, you become an integral part of this remarkable movement, connecting with the spirit of Elijah and the teachings of the Carmelites.

Join us on this journey of compassion and support as we keep the flame of hope alive for the Carmelites in Indonesia. Together, we can make a tangible difference, embodying the spirit of Elijah and the Carmelite tradition, and continuing their mission of service and spiritual guidance.
